Okay, everybody's heard the storyline that the Andromedans fled their war torn galaxy to find a new home... and so on. Well, ever thought about why else people would leave? What if the Andromedans were only a small portion of their race who didn't leave voluntarily, like terrorists, or rabble-rousers. Wouldn't it be macabre for Radu to find out his own race, that rejects individuality, used to be individual outcasts, exiles? To find out that all the beliefs he was taught from childhood about Andromedan unity, loyalty, and collective-mindedness were all lies, made up to render future generations clueless about the real Andromeda, lest they be inclined to head back and might disclose information about the new colony? What do you figure you would do with information like that, expose it and destroy society, even though that's the "right" thing to do, or sit on it and let society go on, even if it is a myth.
I think that would make for a good storyline. If you want to spice it up a bit and write, go for it.
